About 10 thousand Soviet GOSTs will be abolished in Russia: they are outdated and hinder the development of the economy, ”the head of Rosstandart Alexey Abramov announced about this decision.
According to the research department, the use of updated standards and participation in the ecosystem of standardization will encourage domestic enterprises to share best practices and transition to modern technical policies.
“Outdated requirements prevent business and development of the economy, and here the“ Soviet GOSTs ”are the weak link (state standards adopted before 1991 - note ed.). Most of them belong to the sphere of voluntary application, and all of them are subject to revision or cancellation in the near future, ”said Abramov.
We also note that in 2012 the Rosstandard reduced the average age of the national standard from 21 to 17 years. In 2021, on behalf of the Minister of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov, this figure will be brought to 11 years.
